The OpenAI Codex CLI can load MCP servers from ~/.codex/config.json. Add Runstack to run MCP tools from the terminal.

Configuration

Create or edit ~/.codex/config.json:

Use a Runstack key from API Keys. Codex loads MCP on next launch.

Codex uses Runstack to search the registry and execute the right toolkit tools.
