redditCreatePost | Create a new text (self) or link post in an existing subreddit, optionally applying a flair template ID. Publishes publicly and immediately — confirm subreddit, title, and body with the user before executing. Use redditListSubredditPostFlairs first when the subreddit requires flair. |
redditDeleteComment | Permanently delete a comment authored by the authenticated user. Provide the comment fullname ID (starts with t1_). Deletion is irreversible — confirm with the user first. |
redditDeletePost | Permanently delete a post authored by the authenticated user. Provide the post fullname ID (starts with t3_). Only works on the own posts — confirm with the user first. |
redditEditCommentOrPost | Edit the body text of the authenticated user's own comment or self (text) post. Cannot edit link posts or titles. Provide the fullname ID (t1_ for comments, t3_ for posts). |
redditGetListingBySort | Get a listing of posts from the Reddit front page sorted by hot, new, top, rising, controversial, or best. Supports pagination (after/before) and time filtering for top and controversial sorts. For random posts use redditGetRandomPost instead. |
redditGetControversialPosts | Get controversial posts from across all of Reddit, ranked by controversy within a time window (hour, day, week, month, year, or all-time). Supports pagination via after/before cursors. |
redditGetUserPrefs | Get preference settings of the authenticated Reddit user. Optionally pass a comma-separated list of fields (e.g. lang,over_18,nightmode) to return only those; omit to return all preferences. |
redditGetRandomPost | Get a random public Reddit post, optionally limited to a specific subreddit. Use to discover serendipitous content. |
redditGetUserAbout | Get public profile information about a Reddit user, including karma scores and premium status. Use "me" for the authenticated user. Do not include the u/ prefix. |
redditGetOauthScopes | List all OAuth scopes supported by the Reddit API with their descriptions. Use to understand which permissions are available before requesting broader access. |
redditGetSubredditRules | Get the posting rules for a subreddit to verify content meets community guidelines before posting or commenting. Use before redditCreatePost or redditPostComment in an unfamiliar subreddit. |
redditSearchSubreddits | Search for subreddits by title and description to find communities matching a topic or keyword. Returns subscriber counts, descriptions, and metadata. Supports pagination via after/before cursors. |
redditGetUserFlair | List user flair assignments for a subreddit with pagination. Returned flair IDs are scoped to that subreddit and must not be reused elsewhere. |
redditCheckUsernameAvailable | Check whether a username is available for registration on Reddit. Use before suggesting a new account name. |
redditListSubredditPostFlairs | List available link/post flair templates for a subreddit, including flair_template_id values. Use before redditCreatePost when the subreddit requires or supports flair. |
redditPostComment | Post a comment replying to a submission (t3_ ID) or another comment (t1_ ID). Publishes immediately and publicly — confirm target and text first. Fails on locked or archived threads; honor any RATELIMIT cooldown before retrying. |
redditRetrievePostComments | Get comments for a post by its base-36 article ID (without the t3_ prefix). The response is a two-element array: post metadata first, then comments with nested replies under each comment's replies field. Filter out bodies that are [deleted] or [removed]. |
redditRetrievePostsFromSubreddit | Get posts from a public subreddit sorted by hot, new, top, rising, or controversial. Post data is nested under data.children[].data; paginate with the data.after cursor. Compare created_utc client-side for date filtering. Also covers new/top listings (set timeFilter for top/controversial windows). |
redditRetrieveSpecificCommentOrPost | Get detailed information for a single comment or post by its fullname ID. Returns only that item without surrounding thread context — use redditRetrievePostComments for full discussions. Deleted or removed items may return empty payloads. |
redditSearchAcrossSubreddits | Search Reddit for posts using a query with Reddit search operators (title:, author:, subreddit:, url:, site:, flair:). Supports sort, time windows, pagination via the after cursor, and restricting to posts (links). |
redditToggleInboxReplies | Enable or disable inbox reply notifications for your own submission or comment. Provide the item fullname ID (t3_ for posts, t1_ for comments) and the desired state. |
